When I close my eyes I see you,

Smiling like the child you were,

Until away death did steal you

Gone in a dark blur.

I try to put you in a safe,

Locked up in my mind,

So you could be a child again,

Somewhere death can’t find.

But thoughts escape,

Torment my brain,

So sometimes, afraid,

I try to painfully to forget again.
